Applications for Renewable Energy Plant Operators and EPCs
As important as the expansion of renewable energies is for our emission-free future, there are always economic considerations that must justify the construction and operation of these plants. Whether plant operators themselves or companies that act as general contractors (EPCs) during construction and subsequently take care of operation and maintenance: in the end, the investments should pay off as quickly as possible. Our battery storage systems can support you in this or even make projects economically viable in the first place. It is not without reason that more and more tenders for large PV and wind plants provide for coupling with battery storage systems. Semi- or fully stationary container solutions
Our Energy Container Solutions (ECS) are the powerhouses among our solutions. Freely configurable according to requirements, we can integrate from 70 to 3000 kWh of battery storage into 10-, 20-, or 40-foot ISO containers. To put this in perspective: with the largest storage capacity, a small village with 150 single-family homes could be supplied with electricity from the container alone for two days. The batteries can be charged with any conceivable energy source (power grid, photovoltaic, wind power, diesel generator, fuel cell, …). In addition, several of these containers can be combined to form large-scale storage systems to provide even more capacity and freely scalable output power.
The Energy Container Solutions are particularly suitable for the following applications:
- Grid connection optimization: In many cases, solar or wind plants are only connected to medium- or low-voltage grids into which only part of the electricity being actually generated can be fed at peak times due to technical grid restrictions. As a result, the plant operator regularly loses profits. Our ECS can temporarily store the surplus energy at peak times in order to release it into the grid at a later time with lower power generation.
- Avoiding low and negative electricity prices: Due to the addition of volatile wind and solar plants, electricity prices are increasingly falling into negative territory. In 2020, there were already 298 hours with prices below zero in Germany. Subsidized renewable energies are entitled to payment of the market premium even when prices are negative, but the EEG 2021 reduced the regulation of a subsidy reduction from 6 to only 4 hours. This means that if the spot market price is negative over the course of four hours or more, operators will no longer receive a market premium retroactively from the first hour. With the help of our container solutions, low or negative electricity prices and support reductions can be circumvented and more profitable feed-in times can be used.
- Self-consumption optimization & peak shaving for customers: For production halls with high electricity demand, battery storage in variable sizes can be used for cost reduction and self-consumption optimization in combination with a photovoltaic system. Our Energy Container Solutions also offer an optimal solution to avoid high grid usage fees due to load peaks. By unloading, you can cushion the load peaks as needed and thus avoid increased grid usage fees. We have already written in detail about self-consumption optimization and peak shaving here.

Mobile Battery Storage Solutions
Are you working on a PV or wind plant for a greener future, but still using diesel generators with high emission levels to provide energy? We can help you out here as well: Our ARVEY E3 & E5 solutions are mobile battery storage units on transport wheels with 4.5 and 6 kWh capacity and high output powers of 3 and 5 kW (300% peak power for starting current). Wherever power is needed on your construction site, the rugged wheels of these storage solutions make it easy to transport them to their destination. Cost-intensive, noisy and high-emission diesel generators or long cable routes become unnecessary. If you already have a diesel generator, it is still worth combining it with an E3 or E5. For example, the intelligent by-pass function allows the generator’s power to be used primarily at the ideal power and excess energy to be stored in the battery. This way, no energy is lost and one can save costs and emissions.
The storage units can be charged in combination with grid power, solar panels or diesel generators. In interconnected operation, our container solutions can also be used as charging stations, enabling the creation of a (partially) self-sufficient, battery-based energy ecosystem.
