Applications in construction

On any construction site, the focus is on cost optimization and a smooth flow of work. An important prerequisite for this is not least a reliable, flexible, low-cost, low-noise and low-emission power supply. Currently, diesel generators are used in many applications on construction sites, which can only deliver these properties to a limited extent. We will show you how to build a more reliable, cost-efficient infrastructure with AXSOL’s large and small battery storage solutions, with or without emergency generators – and protect people and nature along the way.

All our solutions

… use lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries that are durable and safe to make your jobsite as low-risk as possible.

Semi- or full-stationary container solutions

Our Energy Container Solutions (ECS) are the powerhouses among our solutions. Freely configurable according to any requirements, we can integrate from 70 to 3000 kWh of battery storage into 10-, 20-, or 40-foot ISO containers. To put this in perspective: with the largest storage capacity, a small village with 150 single-family homes could be supplied with electricity from the container alone for two days. The batteries can be recharged with any conceivable energy source (power grid, photovoltaic, wind power, diesel generator, fuel cell, …). With a selectable output power of up to 2000 kW, even large construction sites can be reliably supplied with electricity.

Energy Container Solutions are particularly suitable for the following applications:

    • Self-sufficient initial or permanent power supply for a construction site: The energy provider is taking its time with access to construction power, but you need the energy immediately? No problem – charge the battery storage beforehand on your company premises and transport the container to the desired construction site to enable an initial supply of all relevant electronic devices. On request, we also configure for you a combination of battery storage, PV system & emergency generators, with which you can supply your construction site in off-grid regions also permanently self-sufficient.
    • Hybridization diesel generators for cost savings, noise& emission reduction: Energy supply exclusively via diesel generators is favorable in the acquisition costs, but the variable costs of fossil fuel add up to high amounts. In the future, these costs – keyword CO2 tax – will continue to rise. In addition, it cannot be ruled out that in the coming years regulations will come into force restricting the use of diesel generators in city centers. We already know that by adding battery storage to the generator, its running costs can be reduced by around 30%. By adding solar panels, we can save further costs, reduce emissions and minimize the construction noise generated for residents and at night. In the long run, the maintenance effort and the lifetime of the diesel generator will also be optimized in the process.
    • Uninterruptible power supply: In the event of mains fluctuations, the power supply is supported by drawing energy from the battery storage system and in the event of a complete mains failure, the entire power supply is switched to battery operation within a maximum of 20 ms. Thus, your construction site can be secured several times in safety-critical projects and a power failure can be avoided.

The CNHybrid combines our intelligent storage system with innovative, foldable 20-foot containers from cooperation partner CONTINEST. Due to the battery storage integrated in the floor (14.7/31.95/49.7 kWh possible) and unique folding mechanism, the CNHybrid can be folded to only 54 centimeters. Thus, instead of two non-folding containers, up to ten CNHybrid units can be transported to your construction site at the same time on a truck with trailer. This saves transport costs and the associated emissions. The CNHybrid is completely assembled and ready for use in less than 10 minutes with the help of a forklift truck. Renewable energy is generated by a portable photovoltaic power plant, which can be unfolded to a length of approx. 6 meters in just a few steps and provides 2 or 4 kWp of green energy for the user. For mobile accommodations with energy needs, the cooperation product is ideal.

Energy Container Solutions are particularly suitable for the following applications:

  • Mobile office and break room: In its three different standard configurations, the CNHybrid represents an ideal office or storage room with integrated energy supply on any construction site. For example, the largest configuration with 49.7 kWh of battery storage allows two laptops, a refrigerator, a drill and a demolition hammer in continuous use for more than 16 hours. The structural design of the containers also allows multiple copies to be stacked on top of each other, saving floor space.

Mobile battery storage solutions

Our ARVEY E3 & E5 solutions are mobile battery storage on transport wheels with 4.5 and 6 kWh capacity. With this amount of energy, even power-hungry machines such as a standard demolition hammer can be operated for more than 2 and 3 hours, respectively. The connection of such machines is easily possible due to a high output power of 3 and 5 kW. Wherever power is needed on your construction site – the robust wheels of these storage solutions make it easy to transport them to their destination. Cost-intensive, noisy and high-emission diesel generators thus become superfluous.
The storage units can be charged by a wide variety of generation sources, whether fossil or renewable. In interconnected operation, our container solutions can also be used as charging stations, enabling the creation of a (partially) self-sufficient, battery-based energy ecosystem.

Our ARVEY A1 is the adaptable lightweight battery storage solution. Hand-portable and extra robust thanks to its reinforced aluminum housing, it can be used flexibly and safely on any construction site – wherever power is needed. Thanks to its expandable battery storage, you have a capacity of 480 to 1,920 Wh at your disposal. That’s enough to power a standard drill for 40 minutes, for example – per battery module.

The A1 is far more mobile than any diesel generator, and is also quiet and cost-saving. It can also be charged regardless of the type of generator source and ideally complements our Container Solutions. Charged overnight, it is available to site personnel during the day and reliably provides power for tools and other terminal equipment.
